Fond Farewell Cremations was created for families who want something simpler – a dignified, affordable cremation without the formality and expense of a traditional funeral.
We’re part of Hillier Funeral Service, which has been caring for Wiltshire families for over 100 years. That local heritage is at the heart of everything we do.
When you call us, you’re not speaking to a national call centre, you’re speaking to someone who lives and works in this community.
We use our own mortuary and chapels of rest, and all cremations take place at Kingsdown Crematorium, Swindon. Your loved one stays close to home throughout.

You’ve probably seen the adverts. National direct cremation companies, some spending millions on TV campaigns, promoting ‘simple’ and ‘affordable’ options. And on the surface, they can seem straightforward.
But there’s something they don’t tell you.
When you call a national provider, your loved one isn’t cared for locally. They’re often collected by a third-party contractor and transported to a central facility, sometimes hundreds of miles away. The cremation may take place in a completely different part of the country. And throughout the process, you may never speak to the same person twice.
For many families, that realisation comes too late.
At Fond Farewell Cremations, we believe your loved one should stay close to home – and so should you.
Fond Farewell is part of Hillier Funeral Service, a family business serving families in Swindon and the surrounding areas for over 100 years.
They are cared for in our own mortuary and chapels of rest here in Swindon, never transported far from home.
The cremation takes place at a local, familiar crematorium, and close to the people who love them.
Our team are all local people who know the local area well. You’ll speak to the same person throughout, not a national call centre.
Our prices are published openly and cover everything. No hidden extras, no unexpected charges, and no pressure.
Our compassionate team are still here for you when the practicalities are done, for support and to signpost you to local grief and bereavement care.
Whether you’re at the planning stage or in the immediate days after losing someone, our care doesn’t stop at the cremation.
We offer aftercare support to all families across our service area – including memorial planning guidance and signposting to local bereavement services across Swindon and Wiltshire.
Fond Farewell Cremations is part of Hillier Funeral Service, one of Wiltshire’s most established and trusted independent funeral providers, with over a century of experience caring for local families.
When you choose Fond Farewell, you’re backed by that heritage, with the same local people, the same values, and the same commitment to doing right by every family we serve.

Absolutely. Direct cremation and a meaningful memorial are not mutually exclusive. Many families hold a celebration of life afterwards — at home, in a local venue, or in a place that was special to their loved one. We can help you arrange a memorial service that truly reflects the person you’ve lost.
We’re here whenever you need us, whether you’d like to chat about planning ahead, or need immediate support today.
